Each month Robert Aitken, of Philadelphia, published the Pennsylvania Magazine. This issue (Feb. 1776) carries recent news, entertaining fictional stories and informative articles. This particular issue was replicated because of four articles of the 15 published. The most interesting of these were about the manufacture of Gun-powder, the shipwreck of Emanuel Crespel, Arguments against playing cards on the Lord's Day and best of all; "Dumb Speech, or the Art of Conversing by the Fingers only" which include a full page wood-cut illustration.

This 48 page pamphlet works well into the Revolutionary War understanding.
