Before rubber erasers were invented, erasing pencil and ink took much more difficult methods in the 18th century. However, as early as the 1500's and through the early 1800's, there was a technique which allowed one to write on a specially coated leather with a soft pencil, then with a moist cloth, wipe away any pencil marks.
This is similar replica to a mini book carried in the pocket of King George III. Same size as his and also includes a "nail pencil", made by Goose Bay Workshops, to write with and also acts as a device to keep the book closed. Inside you find 8 pages of specially tanned leather parchment coated in this proprietary coating. Behind this is 16 pages of blank paper if your notes need more permanent place to be. Both front and back endsheets are made from hand marbled paper.
